Narrative
DEL RIO, CA – Three adults and one child died on Tuesday following a head-on collision in the northern suburbs of Modesto, reports KCRA 3.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. on McHenry Avenue in Del City. This is about five miles south of Escalon.
Police say that a northbound Mitsubishi sedan entered the southbound lanes of traffic and collided head-on with a southbound Toyota SUV.
The crash killed the 19-year-old driver of the sedan and her 22-year-old passenger at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their names to the public.
Medics transported the 60-year-old driver of the SUV and her 1-year-old passenger to the hospital, where they died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Following the initial accident, two additional vehicles, a Ford pickup and a Ram van, collided with the wreckage from the first crash. It’s unclear if anyone in those vehicles was hurt.
