Narrative
FAIRFIELD, CA – A pregnant woman sustained injuries and lost her unborn child when a vehicle struck her at a Fairfield intersection this past Tuesday.
The accident happened around 7:18 p.m. near the intersection of East Tabor Avenue and Manor Place, which is just south of Tabor Park and northeast of Grange Middle School.
Police say the victim was pushing a stroller across East Tabor when a vehicle hit her and narrowly missed hitting the stroller.
Medics transported the woman and her toddler to an area hospital. The woman sustained serious injuries which included the loss of her pregnancy. The toddler sustained non-critical injuries.
It’s unclear what caused the accident, but authorities say the driver of the vehicle stopped to render aid and speak with police.
