Narrative
CHINO HILLS, CA – Two people died Monday after a box truck crashed through the a Caltrans work zone along the highway in San Bernardino County.
The incident occurred around 8:37 a.m. on the northbound side CA-71 near South Euclid Boulevard in Chino Hills.
Police say that the driver of a box truck was not intoxicated when they sideswiped a Caltrans van and struck two pedestrian workers along the highway.
The two pedestrian workers died from injuries sustained in the accident. Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims.
The driver of the Caltrans van sustained non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
