Narrative

An on-duty detective fatally drove into two brothers on Tuesday as the men were refilling a vehicle with gas on the side of I-5. At 6a.m., the detective drove into the brothers and their two vehicles in his Ford Fusion. The pickup of one of the men had run out of gas and the other sibling had come to help refill it. Both brothers, Juan Carlos Enriquez Rodriguez, 33, and Lionel Enriquez Rodriguez, 32, died from the incident. One died at the hospital and one died at the site. The at-fault driver was uninjured.
