Narrative
A black sedan containing several occupants began to drive east on a westbound lane when it struck a truck along 118 Freeway and Tampa Ave. on March 5th. Two occupants of the sedan were killed at the scene. The at-fault driver was hospitalized. It is thought that this driver was likely driving while impaired. The other driver was not harmed or hospitalized. The accident occurred around 4:30a.m. and the roadway was closed off for several hours after that as authorities investigated and cleaned up the mess. Visual images of the crash scene show that the yellow box truck was pushed off the freeway while the sedan was heavily damaged on top and at the front.
