VISTA, CA – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash with an SUV on I-15 earlier this week, according to information from FOX 5 San Diego.
The collision happened on northbound I-15 near Gopher Canyon Road in Vista at around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, as a 27-year-old motorcyclist from Temecula was riding her Ducati sport motorcycle. The driver of an SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe, changed lanes in front of the motorcycle, and the woman crashed into its rear. The driver of the SUV then fled the scene.
The motorcyclist, whose identity was not immediately released, was taken to the hospital with major injuries that were thought to be non-life-threatening.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash and to search for the suspect driver and vehicle. Those with information on the crash are asked to contact the California Highway Patrol at 760-643-3400.
