Narrative
CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, CA – An 80-year-old woman died last Saturday when a vehicle struck her along a highway in northwest Monterey County.
The accident happened in the evening on Highway 1 at Soberanes Canyon Trail in Garrapata State Park.
Police say the woman was crossing the highway when a northbound Ford F-150 struck her.
The pedestrian died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released her identity to the public.
The driver of the pickup truck stopped to render aid and speak with police.
