Narrative
NORWALK, CA – Four people died Sunday in a fiery collision along the interstate in south-central Los Angeles County.
The accident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on the southbound side of I-605 just north of I-105 in the city of Norwalk. This is about 15 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
Police say that a Nissan sedan carrying four people became disabled after hitting a police cruiser along I-605. A Kia then struck the Nissan, causing it to ignite.
All four occupants of the Nissan died at the scene from injuries sustained in the fiery crash. Authorities have not yet named the victims.
Medics transported two people from the Kia to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
Motorists likely faced delays overnight along I-605 southbound while emergency crews worked at the scene.
