Narrative

SAN DIEGO, CA – A pedestrian was sent to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries after getting struck by a hit-and-run driver on the 1800 block of El Cajon Boulevard in the University Heights district before 9 p.m. Saturday. San Diego Police said the pedestrian, a 47-year-old man, was waiting at the crosswalk east of the bus stop. At the same time, the suspect’s vehicle – a dark-colored Honda Civic or BMW 3 Series – turned right onto eastbound El Cajon Boulevard from Park Boulevard and hit the pedestrian, and fled the scene. The pedestrian’s injuries consist of a right shoulder fracture, scattered brain bleeds, minor abrasions, and a laceration to the back of his head. It is unclear who was at fault. San Diego Police are investigating additional details surrounding this collision.
