Narrative
NEAR SNELLING, CA – A 60-year-old man, who was a front-seat passenger, died after his driver went off Highway 59, causing their 2017 Toyota Yaris to roll over Saturday.
This collision happened before 12:45 a.m. north of Fields Road and north of the Snelling community. The 60-year-old man, who did not wear a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 58-year-old man who also did not wear a seatbelt, survived. However, he’s now listed in serious condition at a hospital.
California Highway Patrol confirmed that both men were thrown from their vehicle. At this time, they have not said if the lack of street lights, impairment, speed, or other factors played a role in this collision.
