Narrative
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA – A Los Angeles Police officer driving a patrol car hit a pedestrian and then rammed into a restaurant in Vermont Square Wednesday. This crash was reported before 1 a.m. at the South Normandie Avenue and West Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard junction. While the circumstances leading up to this crash are unclear, the Los Angeles Police Department speculates the officer operating the vehicle could have struck a nail, which caused the tire to deflate. As a result, the officer could have lost control of the cruiser, leading him to crash into the Burger Factory restaurant and hit a pedestrian, identified as Chris Davis. Davis was also almost pinned to the wall and sustained unspecified wounds in the process. First responders took Davis to a hospital, and he was later released. The restaurant suffered some broken windows, although the damage was not deemed too significant, as the integrity of the establishment does not seem to be compromised.
