SANTA CRUZ, CA – A 77-year-old man lost his life when he crashed his silver 2004 Ford Crown Victoria into a tree off Highway 1 before 5 a.m. Monday. It is unclear what led the man to go off the road and collide with a tree. Despite life-saving measures, the man succumbed to fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
