Bakersfield hit-and-run leaves one dead

BAKERSFIELD, CA – A hit-and-run collision along northbound 99 left one person dead on Tuesday night, KGET reports. 

The accident occurred around 9:20 a.m. on northbound 99 near Palm Street.

The victim, a 43-year-old man, was driving a white GMC Sierra when he made a lane change and struck another vehicle.

The GMC struck the median and flipped over. The driver was rushed to Kern Medical where he later passed away. A 21-year-old woman was also in the car and suffered moderate injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene.
