Narrative
SALINAS, CA – An elderly woman sustained fatal injuries when a vehicle struck her in the parking lot of a North Salinas church on Memorial Day.
The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. at 320 East Laurel Drive, which is the Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church. This is just northeast of the Salinas Sports Complex.
Authorities haven’t publicly identified the woman, but they say she was in her 70s.
Police have characterized the incident as an accident, indicating that the driver did not show signs of intoxication.
No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the crash, and no charges have been filed at this time.
