OAKLAND, CA – A 67-year-old woman lost her life when she struck the back of a Chevrolet SUV with her Volkswagen Beetle on the Fruitvale Avenue entrance ramp Sunday. This collision occurred before 5:45 p.m. at IH 580 West. Impairment was not a contributing factor in the crash, although police speculated the woman was driving at a high rate. Her name has not been released, and she succumbed to blunt force trauma.
