WASCO, CA – A 1-year-old child was killed in an accident caused by a suspected DUI driver in Wasco on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Wasco Tribune, the accident occurred at the intersection of Shafter Avenue and Burbank Street around 4 p.m.
The suspect was driving a Dodge Ram east on Burbank Street when he collided with a Jeep Cherokee driven by a 29-year-old man from Bakersfield. It is believed that he ran the stop sign in the intersection, which caused the collision.
A one-year-old in the Jeep was killed at the scene. Five others were injured and taken to nearby hospitals.
The driver of the Dodge was arrested for DUI.
