Narrative
SAN LUIS OBISPO CO., CA – A wrong-way crash along the highway in northeastern San Luis Obispo County killed two people and injured another on Tuesday.
The accident happened early in the morning on Highway 46 just past Cholame, which is about 23 miles east of Paso Robles.
Police say that the driver of a westbound 2020 Hyundai entered the eastbound lane of the highway while passing an 18-wheeler and crashed head-on into an eastbound 2005 Ford F350.
Both the driver of the Hyundai and a passenger sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Authorities have not yet released their identities to the public.
Medics transported the driver of the Ford, identified as Grant McKenzie, to the hospital with serious injuries.
