Narrative
FRESNO, CA – A 19-year-old woman was crossing Ashlan Avenue near North Valentine Avenue and was fatally hit by a driver who fled the scene before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. The 19-year-old woman was walking with another female when she was struck. They did not use a crosswalk, and the 19-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene. The other pedestrian appears to have been unscathed, although she was shaken up by the events. Fresno Police confirm that the driver also declined to render aid. Police have yet to locate the suspect but advise the public to come forward if they have any more information on this specific hit-and-run crash or on the suspect and their vehicle.
