Narrative
NEAR YUCCA VALLEY, CA – A 59-year-old woman operating a Mini Cooper went over the double yellow lines on State Route 247, colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Malibu and injuring herself and two others.
This collision occurred before 7 a.m. Tuesday near Napa Road. The 59-year-old woman, a Desert Hot Springs resident, along with the Chevrolet Malibu driver — a 27-year-old man from Oklahoma — and the passenger, a woman, also 27 and from Oklahoma — were all rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate and serious injuries.
California Highway Patrol started an investigation and said details are limited at this time. However, they did confirm that impairment was not a contributing factor.
